How far in advance should I order?
For a celebration cake we appreciate confirmation minimum 10 days in advance, for a large scale cake including Wedding cake we appreciate confirmation minimum 1 month in advance to ensure we have ample time to design, shop, bake and create your masterpiece. If you are outside of these timelines, please still send through your enquiry and we may be able to assist you if we have availability.
Do you cater to dietary requirements?
Absolutely, please include in your enquiry if there are any allergens that you would like us to cater for, and we can recommend the safest cake for you. However, please keep in mind that our kitchen is not allergen free, and our products may contain traces of gluten, eggs, nuts and dairy.
I have a design in mind, do you do Custom orders?
We love seeing your inspiration, whether it be pictures of cakes or a colour palette that you would like us to use. Remember that AI can create a cake much easier than a human, and sometimes designs are not always as doable as they seem. However we will work with you to ensure you are happy with the end product before going ahead with the order
What size cake do I need?
Cake sizes can be really hard to decide, some things to consider when deciding your cake size are; what other foods / desserts are on offer for the guests, would you prefer a cake just for photos and cutting or do you want it to feed all of your guests, what design do you like the look of - tall and skinny, short and wide, 1 2 or 3-tiered. We have created a size guide that you can find here to better understand what you need to order.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, if delivery is within 5km of Moonee Ponds we will deliver free of charge, anywhere else in Melbourne a delivery fee will be added to your quote, starting at $15.
How do i transport my cake?
We would absolutely hate for you cake to be ruined in transport before you even reach the celebration destination, and therefore we do our best to create sturdy and stable cakes. Any damage caused to a cake once it has left our hands is not our responsibility. Please follow these guidelines to give your cake the best chance during transportation; store cake on a flat surface - either foot well of the passenger seat or the boot, ensure the cake is not able to slide around once in position, do your best to take a route that has minimal speed humps and roundabouts. When carrying the box, ensure one hand is supporting the cake from underneath at all times. When opening the box take care with the cardboard flaps and lid to not scrape the cake.
What do your cakes cost?
Each custom cake design takes a different amount of care and time to produce, that is why we don't have a specific price list until we know exactly what you are wanting to order. Our Bento cakes (made for 1-8 people) start at $80, and our celebration cakes (made for 10+ people start at $130), but a more specific price can be estimated during our initial conversation.
Can I add extra's eg. cake topper, flowers, fruit?
Of course! If you have your own topper or decorations we can add it on together at the time of delivery. Please note, some flowers are toxic to humans, while we don't anticipate you eating the petals, the toxins come from the stalk, so please check before purchasing flowers as decoration. If you would like me to source a topper or decorations for you, I can definitely do that, and the price for the extra's will be added to the quote.
How do I store my cake?
Our buttercream cakes are to be served at room temperature for them to taste their best! Please keep cakes refrigerated up until 2-3 hours before serving (this will change slightly depending on the weather and room temperature), and do not leave in direct sunlight or a hot room. Any leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days, or the freezer for up to 3 months. If frozen, transfer into the fridge for 6+ hours, and then bring to room temperature before eating.
Can I change or cancel my order?
We understand life happens, and some things are out of our control! At the time of confirming your order we ask for a 50% deposit to cover the admin and shopping costs, if a cancellation occurs prior to 7 days we will return half of your deposit, if a cancellation occurs 7 - 3 days in advance your deposit will not be returned, and if a cancellation occurs with less than 3 days notice a full payment will still need to be made as the production of your cake will already be underway.
Any changes to your cake can occur up until 7 days prior to the celebration, this can include size, flavour or design of the cake, or even a change of date to the celebration.
